Big Night Out a total wipeout, dude!!
09 December 2009
Karingal’s annual Big Night Out is always a great success, but this year’s Surf Safari theme saw more than 600 people in the mood to groove to some beachy tunes.
The chilled yet excited atmosphere inside The Arena was infectious as Karingal clients, staff, business and community partners and family and friends streamed in, dressed in everything from loud Hawaiian shirts, grass skirts and thongs to sarongs, flower garlands and bikinis.
The scene was set with the stage converted to a tropical paradise and palm trees decorating more than 50 tables.
The Beachy Boys played the Beach Boy’s biggest hits and cover band Trojan also kept the dance floor packed.
The “Money Can’t Buy” auction was a huge success – with all items sparking fierce bidding. The signed and framed Geelong Cats jumper was under the hottest contention, selling for more than $3500.
Next year’s event is already in planning stages, with everyone set to look glitteringly fabulous for a “Hollywood red carpet” theme.
A big thank you goes out to our business partners, who also attended on the night including Shane Cook Homes, Timbertruss Geelong, Westpac, Adroit Insurance Group, iseek Communications, Independent Management Group, Department of Human Services, Quiksilver, Transport Accident Commission, Deakin University, Now Architecture, Bay FM and K-Rock.
