Kommercial trio recognised for top work

Three of Kommercial’s supported employees were nominated for the prestigious Rotary Club of Bayside Geelong Ken Wilkes Award recently.
Emily Sinclair from Douro Packaging, Stuart Wood from Kommercial's Alcoa Enclave and Geoff Jones from Baxter Packaging all attended the award ceremony in October.
While they didn’t take out the award, MatchWorks’ own Sharyn Faulkner, who is also a member of the Rotary Club of Bayside Geelong, said a nomination alone was an honour.
“Just to be nominated was an achievement in itself, they should be very proud” she said.
The Ken Wilkes Award is an annual accolade recognising an individual with a disability who has shown exceptional personal effort to meet the challenges of their work.
Kommercial Service Co-ordinator Ryan Gibbons said it was the hard work of all three that had earned them their nominations.
“All three had been performing above their duties at work and have been a great help assisting supervisors and crew and generally going above their expected duties,” he said.
Kommercial employee Murray Rowland, who was the first recipient of the Ken Wilkes Award in 1999, was also at the event.
Emily, Stuart and Geoff each received a framed certificate to recognise their efforts.
