Kommercial excel to win cafe bid

Kommercial has won the tender to take over the operation of the Shell Refinery food service.
This is their fourth industrial cafe, including two at CSIRO AAHL.
The Shell operation will be a similar size to Kommercial’s Alcoa café and will service around 1000 on-site personnel daily.
Kommercial will start at Shell on December 1 with 15 more staff to be employed, including eight supported employees.
Kommercial Operations Manager Michelle Edwards said winning the Shell contract was a great reflection of Kommercial’s professionalism as a hospitality operation.
She said the location of the refinery in Corio meant it would be a fantastic job pportunity for supported employees who live in Geelong’s northern suburbs.
“It’s fantastic that the new Kommercial Café at Shell will provide wonderful opportunities for the many people with disabilities on Kommercial’s waiting list desperate to work in the hospitality field,” Michelle said.
After managing Shell’s landcare requirements for five years, Michelle said it was great to be able to expand Kommercial’s services further.
“This is such a great opportunity and while it’s a huge task – just like starting a whole new business – we have done this successfully at Alcoa and CSIRO AAHL,” she said.
“We already have all the systems in place to ensure a smooth transition.”
