Holiday at the coast is gold
18 August 2011
A group of Karingal participants escaped the freezing cold of Victoria to head on a five-day holiday to the Gold Coast in July.
The 15 participants were joined by four Karingal staff on their journey north, including Ross McDonald from Ocean Grove Respite.
“Everyone had a fantastic time,” Ross said.
“We even ran in to some Geelong footy club players who were there to play the Gold Coast.
“We got photos with them, which was fantastic.”
Their adventure included visits to Movie World and Sea World, where one participant who uses a wheelchair had the time of her life while riding on a rollercoaster for the first time.
Other activities included going to Paradise Country and the Great Aussie Outback Spectacular.
