EdLinks student group vists City Hall

09 December 2009

EdLinks participants were given the chance to see behind the scenes of the City of Greater Geelong Council recently in what proved an interesting tour for all.

Student, Linda Francis, had been researching the history of the Town Hall as part of her studies, and what better way to complement her studies than to be taken on a personal tour and interview Councillor Barbara Abley.

Being interviewed by EdLinks students is becoming an annual event for Cr Abley who was also quizzed by student Chris Cairnes last year.

Cr Abley was also guest speaker at the EdLinks awards night in 2008.

Linda impressed both Cr Abley and City of Greater Geelong Executive Assistant to Councillors, Stephen Yewdall, who spoke to the group about the role of council in the community, with her excellent research and questions.

The group also visited the Peace Memorial in Johnston Park.
