    Employer Focus: Cartridge World Werribee
    The Cartridge World Werribee Team

When Mim and John looked at purchasing a franchise they wanted a business that would suit their lifestyle and one that would grow steadily.
That was two years ago and their Cartridge World business is now thriving to the point where six months ago they employed a staff member to help with the workload.

    (L-R) Val, Paul and Boyce

“Do you want to work?” These five words changed the life of MatchWorks job seeker, Paul. Paul had many barriers to finding employment, including a hearing impairment, and found it increasingly difficult to find a job that he could enjoy, fit into and do well, the longer he was out of work.

    Meet our staff
    Employment Consultant Boyce Nikora

    Boyce Nikora
    Employment Consultant
    Brunswick

How long have you been with MatchWorks? Almost four years.

How and why did you become an Employment Consultant with MatchWorks? I have a background in providing employment services and have been hooked ever since I began to impact people's lives since day one (about six years ago). MatchWorks is one of the highest level employment service providers of Job Network services in Victoria.

What do you like most about your job? It is very rewarding. Placing client's with a disability or major barrier, into employment is very rewarding. I get so chuffed whenever clients acknowledge that it was my assistance that got them to where they are now. I believe that if you do this job properly, you will never have time to be bored!

What attributes do you have that make you successful at your job? I am passionate about what I do: I possess the drive to succeed. Additionally I try to exercise true perception: That every one of my clients is going to be placed into employment no matter how challenging it may seem.

What has been your biggest achievement since becoming an Employment Consultant? Just recently I placed two hearing impaired clients into work, one of whom is from a non English speaking background.

What tips do you have for employers? Give someone a go! Reliability (in complement to their ability) is the single most necessary attribute required in today's workplace. Statistically, people with disabilities are more reliable in the workplace than those without a disability.
